Open Positions.

Join the team building Life Cycles.

TEDxZurich is volunteer-led. We are looking for curious, committed people to help us build the Life Cycles season — from the first community activation in summer 2026 through to the flagship event in spring 2027.

Partnerships Manager

Volunteer · ~8 hrs/week (20%)

TEDxZürich is entering an exciting phase of renewal — redefining our activities, reshaping our strategy, and rebuilding the organization for its next chapter. As Partnerships Manager, you will drive our growth and sustainability by securing corporate sponsorships, managing key partner relationships, and unlocking new funding streams. You'll take ownership of the whole pipeline, turning leads into meaningful, long-term collaborations.

This role is designed for a proactive, relationship-driven professional passionate about connecting Switzerland's business, marketing, and foundation communities with powerful ideas. If you're a persistent get-goer who thrives on autonomy and follows through to completion, this role is for you.

Your responsibilities

  • Business development: Identify, pitch, and secure new corporate sponsors. Tailor sponsorship packages to match partner marketing objectives with the TEDx ethos.
  • Foundation grant management: Lead the research and application process for relevant foundations, family offices, and public grants, crafting compelling, impact-driven funding proposals.
  • Account & relationship management: Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, ensuring all contractual deliverables (branding, ticketing, engagements) are executed flawlessly.
  • Cross-functional alignment: Collaborate with the Marketing, Operations, and Speaker teams to seamlessly integrate partner initiatives into the broader event ecosystem.

Are you a perfect fit?

  • German native speaker with business-fluent English (Swiss-German comprehension is highly valued)
  • Proven experience in sales, corporate sponsorship, business development, or fundraising — preferably within the Swiss market
  • An established local network across Switzerland's corporate landscape, marketing agencies, or philanthropic sectors
  • A persuasive communicator capable of pitching to C-level executives and foundation boards
  • Self-starting and execution-driven, with the organizational skills to manage a pipeline independently

Commitment

This is a volunteer role, requiring around 8 hours per week (20%). The intensity varies throughout the season and will most likely be higher in the starting months. You'll need consistency, perseverance, and a strong sense of ownership over the partnership process.

What's in it for you?

  • Join a global movement and contribute to a meaningful mission
  • Access to passionate, purpose-driven individuals
  • Perks and benefits offered within the TEDxZurich ecosystem
  • Opportunity to develop leadership, strategic, and operational skills
  • Expand your network and gain visibility in Zurich's innovation and creative community
  • Attend and help shape all TEDxZurich events — and make them unforgettable

Speaker Coach

Volunteer · ~6–8 hrs/week (20%)

TEDxZürich is entering an exciting phase of renewal — redefining our activities, reshaping our strategy, and rebuilding the organization for its next chapter. As Speaker Coach, you are the guardian of talk quality, speaker readiness, and content integrity. Working closely with the Speaker Coach Lead, you guide selected speakers from idea refinement to stage performance — combining intellectual rigor with empathy: challenging ideas constructively, strengthening clarity and narrative, and ensuring every talk meets TEDx standards of substance, credibility, and impact.

Beyond preparing speakers for TEDxZurich events as your main task, you support the consistent application of a structured speaker coaching methodology in selected community and partnership engagements — helping deliver Speaker Coaching as a distinctive asset of TEDxZurich beyond the core event context.

Your responsibilities

  • Guide speakers through the full preparation journey — from idea sharpening and narrative development to stage presence and delivery.
  • Lead and facilitate internal speaker training & rehearsal sessions aligned with official TEDx speaker preparation guidelines.
  • Provide structured, candid, and constructive feedback on content, storytelling, and delivery, and support speakers in sourcing credible references.
  • Proactively identify factual, ethical, or content-related risks (including sensitive claims, data, statistics, and references) and escalate them early to the Speaker Coach Lead to ensure alignment with TEDx standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Curator and Event Team to ensure talks are stage-ready and aligned with the overall event narrative.
  • Deliver external workshops based on the TEDx speaker coaching methodology, translating the internal process into a high-quality, value-adding community offering.

Are you a perfect fit?

  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • Experience in coaching, storytelling, public speaking, journalism, academia, media, or a related field
  • Combine intellectual rigor with empathy and strong listening skills
  • Confident in giving honest feedback while creating psychological safety
  • Care deeply about clarity, evidence, and the responsible spread of ideas
  • Structured and reliable, able to manage multiple speakers in parallel
  • Passionate about TED's mission and the power of well-crafted ideas to shift perspectives

Commitment

This is a volunteer role, requiring an average of 6–8 hours per week, spread out evenly throughout the year. You'll need consistency, ownership, and a strong sense of responsibility for the audience journey.

What's in it for you?

  • Join a global movement and contribute to a meaningful mission
  • Collaborate with passionate, purpose-driven individuals
  • Develop your leadership, strategic, and operational skills
