Why do I need to apply? As much as we loved to see you all there, space at TEDxZurich is limited. As TEDx is all about sharing ideas, we strive to bring together a diverse and high-quality audience. Thus, the registration process is not “first come, first served”, but everyone will have to submit an application. We think this is in the best interest of everyone who will be at TEDxZurich 2012.
How do I apply? Here’s the form. Deadline for applications is August 30, 2012, at midnight.
Who selects the attendees from all applications? We, the TEDxZurich team.
How will you select the people that will be able to attend? All applications are carefully reviewed and discussed by the team. We make our selection based on diversity of industries and backgrounds and of the quality of the application.
How many people will be able to attend TEDxZurich 2012? Around 450 places will be given to people via the application process. We have also partnered with a couple of organizations we trust (like the Entrepreneurs Organization) to select five of their members as participants. In addition, we need to reserve some places for partners and media.
By when will I know whether I’m selected to attend? We will send out confirmation emails to all attendees by September 10. We will then ask you to definitely confirm your place by paying the attendence fee of 50 CHF.
Why 50 CHF? While the entire TEDxZurich team works for free, organizing the event generates costs – from location to catering to free wifi. To cover those costs, we work with partners and ask for a modest participation fee from you. We trust that a day of inspiration and excitement plus free food and drinks is worth the price.
Pick me, pick me! Here’s the wrong place to tell us. You can submit your application here. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
